Ketamine and Anxiety
Ketamine and The Treatment of Anxiety
Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts, and physical changes like increased heart rate, shortness of breath, and fatigue. When an individual faces potentially harmful triggers, feelings of anxiety are normal and necessary for survival. However, most modern anxiety triggers involve work, money, family life, health, and other concerns that require attention without requiring the ‘fight-or-flight’ response.

Fortunately, anxiety can be successfully treated using a range of therapeutic methods. Using Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); clients will learn to challenge thought distortions, embrace their strengths, and focus on the positive future ahead.

Integrated Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (IKAP) is also a treatment option for client’s struggling with anxiety. IKAP is the combination of psychotherapy and an IV ketamine infusion. This process invites neuroplasticity (the ability to change and grow) within the brain's neural connections. This allows clients the ability to process anxious thoughts, embrace change, and focus on hope for the future.
